Animal Cake toppers

So during my little daily browse that I do of all the crafty things people are doing that I just don't seem to have time for... not until the spare room has been cleaned anyway... I found this gorgeous blog post about cake toppers made from plastic animals! How cool is that?  I'm not so sure on the whole spray paint thing being around your cake but I'm sure there is definitely a non toxic paint product that could be used instead... I also cant help but think they would look super cute the colour they started in!  Click Here To go to see the tutorial... and then when your done doing that... Go check out the rest of her blog... Shes doing up an apartment that makes all other apartments get jealous and write cruel text messages.

A little personal achievement!

So I know this doesnt have anything to do with cakes, BUT I was given a sewing machine from my new mother in law Margaret as a wedding present. Ive always wanted one, and I was worried that now that I have one, I would Suck at it. BUT!!!  I made this reversible tote bag. Hooray!! And I have a pattern for a pretty apron, which I have done my calico mock up of which means I am now progressing to using real material!!! Massive personal win!

The possibilities are ENDLESS!

I can't believe it's February already....and Engagement party

So it is infact the 4th of February today. 22 days before my birthday, 2 months before easter, and 8o somthing days till my wedding arghhh!!! How crazy is that! My how time flies! I hope everybody has had wonderful summer holidays, but it all does eventually come to an end, pockets are getting a little empty, the kids are going back to school, and your body is pleading with you to put that wine down and give it a days rest!
Ive got a massive "to do" list leading up to the wedding, but am feeling pretty good about it, and dont think I have given myself too much to do .... yet. Anyway here's a few pictures from our engagement party. The theme was basically a summer nights picnic, and so we had rugs on the court ( my awesome buddy leant me their tennis court and house for the evening) Chinese lanterns, homemade cider (thanks to the groom) paper straws, a dessert table, poloroids... and Pinball! Take a look, I'd love to know what you think! I can't thank Kirsty Duchet for the amazing job she did on the photo's so that I could enjoy the night!

We had a love notes area and poloroid films

Photo board

Salted caramel and chocolate tarts
Mini scones with marscapone and Jam

Pin ball!

Loads of popcorn with indian spiced salt

Coconut cupcakes

Layered buttercake flower design, and a ruffle cake.

All the Invites and my flowers had buttons on them, so does the main cake.

The back of my beautiful Vintage dress I found for $90!

Lots of doilies and candles

Cake pops, and lanterns made from doilies from the opshop and lit with fairy berries

And this was only the beginning! I wish I had a photo to show you when it was all candle light!

The Handsome groom

I made flowers to match my shoes that were pinned to the front of my dress

My groom had a flower too... so that you know he is mine!

Gettin Crafty!

With no oven ( and lots of arguing over that) and a hectic start of the year at work, I managed to let off some steam by playing around with a few ideas in my head. Though I've started to realise I've gone into this whole thing backwards... and my new years resolution ( one dessert table a month) is starting to look way too impossible as I'm still currently trying to get my product list complete. So only a month into the new year and I am already bailing ha! It is so typical of me as I get so so many ideas in my head and then don't have time to do them all... So the next few months will be arranging/creating/perfecting and photographing my products... the table's can come later... And hopefully in that time I'll meet some uber cool person that is just so much better at styling than me and all I'll need to do is bake and create! ( In a perfect world)

Here's a couple of photos just of a few things I've been wanting to try out, and what happens when your oven is STILL not fixed... ( I hope those people can sleep at night knowing what they've done to me!)

Lolly bags

I love the diamante stickers I found

Addicted to toadstools at the moment

How neat are the "umbrella pops" I found ( they look like toadstools!)
And.... I actually hand sewed those toadstools... Which I am so proud of myself as I haven't sewn anything in years ( except the odd moth hole) and so I was quite happy with myself. I realise you can see some of my dodgy stitching... but I don't care! They are now currently sitting on my desk of which they will probably stay there permanently... all I need now is a fairy to sit on them!

ahhh... enough playing around now... Off to do some MORE errands!
